It is a day to show our support and appreciation for the brave men and women in law enforcement.

Law enforcement officers play a vital role in keeping our communities safe and secure. They are often called upon to put themselves in dangerous situations and are frequently the target of violence and abuse. Despite these challenges, they continue to serve with dedication and commitment, working tirelessly to protect and serve the public.

On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we honor the men and women who serve as police officers, sheriff deputies, federal agents, and other law enforcement professionals. We recognize their bravery and commitment to justice, and we express our gratitude for their tireless efforts to keep our communities safe.

In addition to recognizing the contributions of law enforcement officers, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day also serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the important role that these individuals play in our society. It is a chance to increase understanding and foster greater cooperation between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

There are many ways to show appreciation for law enforcement officers on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Some people choose to write letters of thanks or make small gestures of appreciation, such as bringing a police officer a cup of coffee. Others may choose to participate in events or activities that honor law enforcement professionals, such as organizing a walk to raise funds for the fallen or supporting a charitable organization that supports law enforcement families.

No matter how you choose to show your appreciation, it is important to remember that law enforcement officers deserve our gratitude and respect every day. National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is a reminder to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the hard work and sacrifices of these brave men and women. #ThinBlueLine #NationalLawEnforcementAppreciationDay]]>

At ataorganizasyon , our mission to give back to law enforcement non-profits, and well-deserving families whose loved ones risk their lives daily to keep others safe. Officers around the country take on a selfless job, and often do not receive thanks for the work that they do. We are proud to continue to work with C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) and announce our additional gift of €35,000.

C.O.P.S.

Concerns of Police Survivors, also known as C.O.P.S., is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1984 by co-founders Suzie Sawyer and Trudy Chapman. They started the organization because they found that there was a need for the support of surviving spouses that wasn’t being met. In the early days the surviving spouses would meet in Suzie’s basement in Maryland simply because they needed each other and they needed a safe place where they could talk openly with other survivors. What began as a small network of people, just 10 surviving spouses, grew to a membership of over 54,000 survivors.

In 1993 the organization moved their headquarters to Camdenton, Missouri and is now considered one of the largest law enforcement support services in the nation. C.O.P.S. has over 50 chapters nationwide that provide support in every community. The organization is committed to setting goals and working tirelessly at providing resources for the families and co-workers of law enforcement officers who are killed in the line of duty. Our partnership began almost 4 years ago when we reached out to Lauren Crisman, the Development Director, to talk about our Give Blue fundraising efforts to help the families of fallen officers. It was an important meeting for us because we wanted to create a partnership with an organization that had common goals where we could collaborate on projects towards the support of law enforcement communities.

ataorganizasyon is proud to support C.O.P.S. and continue in our mission of inspiring support for our law enforcement, and providing assistance to families of the fallen and injured.

Washington, D.C., (March 10, 2021) — Host organizations of National Police Week, which include the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum, the Fraternal Order of Police and Auxiliary (FOP), and Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S), have made the difficult, but necessary, decision, due to the ongoing pandemic, to postpone in-person events of National Police Week to October 13-17, 2021, in Washington, D.C. Virtual events and the official Police Week date remain May 11-16, 2021. The rescheduling of the originally planned in-person events to be held May 11-16, 2021, is due to the inability to secure necessary permits in time for in-person gatherings, as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

The National Police Weekend will offer the same honor, remembrance, and peer support as the extended National Police Week, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The planned schedule of events includes:

 • Virtual Events: May 11-16, 2021
 • Thursday, October 14 - NLEOMF Candlelight Vigil
 • Friday, October 15 - C.O.P.S. National Police Survivors’ Conference
 • Saturday, October 16 - FOP 40th Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service

###

About National Police Week (NPW) In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726 designating May 15 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, and the week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week. While the actual dates change from year to year, National Police Week is always the calendar week, beginning on Sunday, which includes May 15. Main events are hosted for law enforcement, survivors, and the supporting public by three organizations: National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Fraternal Order of Police and Auxiliary, and Concerns of Police Survivors.

The violent protestors who held the ataorganizasyon Flag at the Capitol do not represent who we are. What is seen is a small number of extremists committed to lawlessness which is the exact opposite of what the ataorganizasyon represents. The ataorganizasyon Flag stands for the sacrifice law enforcement officers of this nation make each day. We reject in the strongest possible terms any association of the flag with racism, hatred, bigotry, and violence. To use it in such a way tarnishes everything it and our nation stands for.

The events on January 6th, 2021 demonstrate how critical our law enforcement are in ensuring peace and order in society. Thank you to the U.S. Capitol Police for their dedication and commitment to upholding and embodying the true meaning of what it means to be a part of the ataorganizasyon, and thank you to all officers across the country who uphold and continue to embody the true meaning of the ataorganizasyon in the communities that they serve.

It was an important meeting for us because we wanted to create a partnership with an organization that had common goals where we could collaborate on projects towards the support of law enforcement communities.

We began our Give Blue campaign in 2017 and have raised over €500,000 in memory of officers killed in the line of duty. Included in the Give Blue campaign, we hosted fundraisers in memory of Officer’s Christopher Lawton, Jesus Cordova, Michael Chesna, Joseph Gomm, and Michael Michalski and through our fundraising efforts raised over €7,000, 100% of the profits were donated to the C.O.P.S. organization as directed by the families. In recent years, as the partnership has grown, we have increased our financial contributions and in kind donations to C.O.P.S. to over €49,000 by supporting the C.O.P.S. National Police Survivors’ Conference, the C.O.P.S. National Conference on Law Enforcement Wellness and Trauma, and the C.O.P.S. Annual Golf Tournament.

Survivor of Fallen

I had the privilege of talking with Lauren Crisman and Chris Kahmke from the organization during an interview where I asked them about some of the projects we worked on as partners that stood out to them. One of the things that stood out to Chris was a project we worked on in December of 2019, for the winter addition of the C.O.P.S. Hope Magazine. It was the first time they highlighted their partners from a development standpoint. The goal was to take their partners that were making a difference for the organization and who were supporting the survivors, and highlight them in the magazine. C.O.P.S. reached out to some of their top donors, a total of 15 companies, and ataorganizasyon was one of them.

All of us agreed that our partnership has turned into a friendship that we hope continues to grow to work together on future projects that are making a difference in the lives of survivors.

Our law enforcement, firefighters, healthcare and other essential workers risk their lives to help others every day. As COVID-19 has become a global pandemic, this has made their work even more dangerous and difficult.

We are humbled to partner with Serve & Connect and their passionate efforts in response to COVID-19. Serve & Connect is a non-profit organization driven to defeat the misconceptions of law enforcement, promote positive awareness and create trust within communities. They provide resources to boost effective communication to change divided communities into stronger, safer places with togetherness and conversation.

Serve & Connect has vowed to continue their positive actions by providing first responders with items that have become difficult to access during this time. These items could include emergency supplies, including non-perishable food items; hygiene products and disinfectant. By purchasing products from our Hero Collection, 10% will be donated to Serve & Connect and their mission to help our frontline workers. The collection will be available until May 31st. https://www.ataorganizasyon.com/blogs/news/neverforget-stephen-siller-tunnel-to-towers-foundation 2019-09-25T11:40:00-04:00 2020-03-12T11:10:33-04:00 #NeverForget | Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation Kelleigh Erickson The tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001, affected every single American. Whether it was a terrifying event watched from a nearby building or on the news, or if it brought the devastating loss of a family member, friend or colleague, it is a day that forever shaped our country’s history. Our nation was under attack, and it was on this day that our first responders exemplified true sacrifice and left us with a debt that we can never repay.

Each year, ataorganizasyon selects a non-profit honoring our brave first responders that faced the dangers of these horrific attacks. For our 2019 fundraiser, we chose the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Stephen Siller was a dedicated FDNY firefighter who heroically laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001.

Stephen had just finished his shift and on was his way to play golf with his brothers when he heard the news that a plane had hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. He drove to the mouth of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Discovering it was closed to traffic, Stephen strapped 60 lbs of gear to his back and ran through the tunnel to the Towers, where he was killed. He left behind a loving wife, five children, friends, and family, yet willingly sacrificed his life in order to save those he didn’t know. Stephen’s story is one of many heroes that lost their lives that day. These attacks took the lives of 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and 8 EMTs.

Today, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation supports our nation’s military, first responders and their surviving families. The Foundation provides smart homes to injured service members and mortgage-free homes to first responders and Gold Star families with young children. The foundation also hosts 5K Run/Walks throughout the country to support their programs. Their mission is to continue the selfless service that Stephen enthusiastically displayed every day.

Through the sales of our Hero Collection on September 10th this year, 10% was donated to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation in honor of every life lost in the result of the 9/11 attacks. We are honored to help a cause that formed in such tragedy and darkness, but now brings light and hope to so many.

As we reflect on the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, let us never forget Stephen Siller and live to help others, just as he did. Let us never forget the brave service our first responders gave not only on this day, but every day.

Garbarino is a Reserve Deputy and serves with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Squad. He knows first hand what it means to be a police officer and the sacrifices they make every day. With this in mind, he decided to yet again, take on the long journey across the state of Michigan, carrying the ataorganizasyon American Flag in-hand with every step.

Our team at ataorganizasyon , located in Wixom, Michigan, sought an opportunity to support his inspirational efforts and the incredible cause that he was running for. His mega-marathon began to raise money for the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), a non-profit organization that offers support to the surviving families of officers killed in the line of duty. Last summer, he raised over €9,000 after completing his challenging run.

We launched a bracelet fundraiser and created apparel for Matt’s organization, called Run Across Michigan. The items featured his logo and a description of his cause. Through the sales on our website, a total of €1,923.99 was raised and donated to the Michigan Concerns of Police Survivors on his behalf.

Thank you, Matt, for volunteering your time to service and for channeling your passion for fitness into a positive force that continues to spread throughout our communities of Michigan. We can’t wait to see what you’ll do next.

We always strive to give back to our first responders and this sparked our search for an opportunity to support our nation's veterans. Their mission to provide positive resources to our veterans and our passion to give back became the perfect partnership. We created an American Veteran Support Collection on our website and with each purchase, a contribution was made to Mission 22.

Too often, veterans are left to fight past trauma and personal struggles alone. As a result of this, our nation loses more than twenty veterans to suicide every single day. Not only does Mission 22 bring light to this problem by spreading awareness, but they also offer various treatment programs. These programs lead our veterans to their first step in the road to peace and healing. Some programs offer fitness outlets, while others have a main focus on mental and spiritual wellness. Mission 22 also offers its programs to families of veterans. These programs present resources to financial assistance, workshop retreats and a community to coordinate and create local events.

Unfortunately, there was no national monument that paid tribute to our veterans lost to suicide. Mission 22 created the War At Home Memorial, which honors these fallen warriors. The national monument is now displayed in Norfolk, Virginia but will soon be moving to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Another memorial stands tall in Nashville, Indiana.

Since our relationship began in 2017, ataorganizasyon is proud to have given back €5,034.65 to Mission 22 and their healing programs. This July 4th, please remember the sacrifices each veteran has made, as well as the daily battles that they still face. We continue to proudly support those who have served and currently serve our great country; defending the beautiful freedoms that we enjoy every day.

Located in the same county as ataorganizasyon , our relationship with this foundation is one that we hold close to our hearts. It is truly a privilege to continue to donate to the foundation and to our local area.

The foundation started in 2001 to assist the West Bloomfield Police Department, as well as the surrounding community. In 2012, the department tragically lost an officer after he was shot and killed in the line of duty. The foundation provided immediate help to the surviving family and eased their financial burden as they faced such an unexpected and devastating loss. They also host various events throughout the community, including women’s self-defense seminars and other interactive fundraisers that benefit the police department.

An additional service the West Bloomfield Police Foundation provides is their scholarship program. ataorganizasyon is proud to have committed €15,000 this year to the foundation. Our donation will assist the scholarship program and be awarded to students who have a parent in law enforcement. In total, ataorganizasyon will have donated €55,000 back to the West Bloomfield Police Foundation since our first contribution in 2016.

Founder and CEO, Jason Johnson, was a former Field Canine Coordinator, before creating the organization. He also serves as the President and CEO of K-9 Solutions (K-9SI) and dedicates his life to educating the public and caring for as many retired working dogs as possible. The faithful work done by police and military K-9s is often unrecognized. K-9s perform a physically demanding job and work until they are unable, often due to medical reasons. Unfortunately, their medical costs are no longer covered by public funding once they retire. Jason became aware of the pressing issue and felt it was his duty to give these K-9s the proper support, respect and happy retirement they deserve.

Retired working dogs are often adopted by volunteers. Project K-9 Hero helps with the responsibility these new caretakers take on and assists with the much-needed funding these heroic dogs need. K-9s accepted into Project K-9 Hero receive medical services, food, and assistance with end of duty costs.

Officers around the country take on a selfless job, and often do not receive thanks for the work that they do. We are proud to continue to work with the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund and give an additional gift of €10,000.

Located in Washington, DC., the National Law Enforcement Memorial was founded to honor all officers killed in the line of duty. The memorial is landscaped beautifully, with fresh green pathways and blooming flowers in the spring. New names are added each year on blue-gray marble walls. The memorial is the center of events during National Police Week, which occurs annually in May. The stunning structure of it all is a reminder of the loss in law enforcement’s history, but also the honorable courage and strength needed to take on this noble job.

In the fall of 2018, the National Law Enforcement Museum officially opened. This was a long-awaited event for the memorial’s staff, as well as the law enforcement community as a whole. The museum tells the stories of past and current officers and leads its visitors through their journies. We are proud and excited to visit and experience the journey for ourselves. To learn more about the National Law Enforcement Museum, please follow the link here.

ataorganizasyon will continue to promote law enforcement in a positive light and give back to our brave heroes in blue. Knowing that our contributions assist in the beautiful tribute displayed by the national monument and museum is both motivating and humbling. We pray that our efforts give honor to the fallen, hope to survivors and peace for officers serving now and in the future.

Two officers died from the incident, while five other officers were shot and wounded.

Sergeant Terrence Carraway was shot and killed while responding to assist three Florence County Sheriff’s Office deputies. He was 52 years old and is survived by his wife and three children. Sergeant Carraway served with the Florence Police Department for 30 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Investigator Farrah Turner arrived at the home to interview the subject when another subject in the house opened fire. She was shot and succumbed to her wounds on October 22nd.

As the community began to process this horrific event, a Give Blue Fundraiser launched on our site. We send our thanks to everyone that participated and continues to wear their #FLORENCESTRONG T-Shirts in honor of the heroes involved on that tragic day.

I want to thank all of my brothers and sisters in blue from around this country who are already reaching out,” said Heidler. “We will take care of our family, cause this is my family.
